LONG SYNOPSIS

Portland is one of America’s great food cities. Taste Black Portland steps inside the kitchens, farms, butcher shops, and late-night spots of the Black chefs, farmers, and entrepreneurs helping shape it. Their food, creativity, humor, and businesses are at the heart of this contemporary portrait of the city.

Filmmaker Jared Leaf guides the journey, sharing meals, hearing stories, and trying his hand at the work. As flavors and conversations begin to resonate with his own life, the journey becomes unexpectedly personal.

A celebration of Black life being made today, Taste Black Portland is also an invitation—especially to Black audiences across the country and around the world—to meet this community and experience the city for themselves.
