Bringing Portland’s past into the picture

Iana’s animation brings historical context into Taste Black Portland through maps, archival imagery, color, and collage. Her sequences explore Vanport and Albina and the Portland food world that shaped James Beard—connecting the city’s past with the larger story unfolding around Jared’s journey.
