Omari Jazz is a Portland-based composer, producer, and sound designer working across film, experimental music, and commercial storytelling. He composed the score for Gaining Ground: The Fight for Black Land, with additional composition projects for Nike, Apple, Red Bull, and John Deere. His work includes sound design for Metro Boomin’s Heroes and Villains short film and remixes for Hiatus Kaiyote and Son Lux. His recording projects include Dream Child and Black Decelerant, a collaboration with Contour.
For Taste Black Portland, his music carries the film’s food, humor and history, and the people at the center of it.
